Profile Field Tabs
My research interests are focused on the interactions between fluvial geomorphic, hydrologic, and ecological processes. Recent and current investigations include: (1) Climate change impacts on soil erosion and water temperature at the continental scale; (2) modeling of rainfall-runoff response at the event scale in forested ecosystems; (3) hydrologic modeling of daily flows; (4) interactions between stream sediment transport and algal production; and (5) study of the relationship between the riparian area and channel morphology under different degrees of urbanization. My research strategy includes intense field-based studies and modeling efforts of both field generated data and regionally available data sets. The goal of my research program is to understand hydrologic processes and to formulate predictions of natural and anthropogenic disturbances that contribute to the sustainable management of forests and river systems.
