He hasn’t found any free time yet, but when he does it will involve playing piano, painting, hockey (if he can find any ice) and learning how to surf.
Mulu studied cultural geography and urban studies as an undergraduate before working at a watershed district in Minnesota. He has worked on research projects related to river morphodynamics and carbon storage on river flood plains. While at OSU, he will study the influence of lithology on longitudinal changes in channel form and sediment transport.
