Received a B.S. in Environmental Science with an emphasis on watershed science from Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls. My research there was focused on phosphorus (P) levels in the Upper Williamson River. I studied natural phosphorus level at the spring heads, which were the genesis of the river, and compared them to phosphorus levels of river water from flood irrigated pastures at the rivers egress from a cattle ranch. Basically, how much P is naturally in the system and what are the levels of P downstream of a cattle operation? My research showed that land management practices on the ranch might be reduced the level of P in stream.
I work for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service where I worked with private land owners to help restore physical, chemical and biological processes to their land for the benefit of wildlife in riverine, lacustrine, and riparian habitats. I will be taking a leave of absence from the service while I focus my attention on graduate studies.
