I earned my B.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Science from the University of Nevada, Reno. Afterward, I joined the editorial staff of The Journal of Wildlife Management, where I spend the next five years. I taught high school Biology for five years in a low-income, underserved community in Gallup, New Mexico, where I also earned an M.A. in Secondary Education, before coming to graduate school in Engineering here at OSU.
I am working on a PhD with Dr. Stephen Good in BEE, exploring potential relationships between the aquatic microbiome of rivers and the hydrology of the basin. Our hypothesis is that we will be able to use the microbiotic community assemblage to predict characteristics of the catchment.
