I was born in Santa Marta, a small city in the Caribbean in Colombia. I study watershed ecosystems, the earth’s water factories. I’m particularly interested in how different natural and human disturbances, like storms, earthquakes, and forest harvesting, impact the interaction between forests, soils, and rivers. Those interactions ultimately affect water quantity and quality among other ecosystem services.
While at Oregon State University, I am pursuing a dual major PhD degree in both Sustainable Forest Management and Water Resources Science
