Holly received her Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Merced where she majored in Earth Systems Science and minored in Environmental Science & Sustainability. During her undergraduate career, Holly traveled to Costa Rica where she studied graywater’s effects on local estuaries, in regards to algal blooms. This is where her interest in water management began. After graduating, she was given the opportunity to travel to Palau, Micronesia to help her PI on his research project centered around evolutionary biology in marine lakes. Since then, she has worked primarily in the education sector working for a non-profit outdoor education school in the Tahoe, CA area called Sierra Nevada Journeys as well as with the Discovery Science Foundation located in Los Angeles. She is extremely excited to be living in the Pacific Northwest and hopes to focus her research on implementing water management strategies & policies in developing countries with an emphasis on transboundary groundwater.
