How did OSU prepare you for your job?:

The interdisciplinary program prepared me to communicate with professionals from all sorts of water fields. In my current position, I translate CWA requirements and develop research strategies with an interdisciplinary group of hydrologists, economists, ecologists, environmental engineers, computer programmers, and soil scientists.

Favorite Memory from OSU:

"Studying" Klamath water policy close up at Agency Ranch; Aaron Wolf's intro to Oregon field trip- a photo from the Steens is still my background; Jeff McDonnell's spring break field course at the Andrews, especially the snow hydrology lesson; Hydrophiles picnics; multidisciplinary seminars; Geoff Huntington's law courses inspired me to go to law school, though law school didn't live up to Geoff's courses!

Advice to incoming/current students:

Take the hard classes but also take time to goof off and make good friends. That's what grad school's all about. Pretty soon, those friends will be your professional network.
