WRP 521 - WATER CONFLICT MANAGEMENT AND TRANSFORMATION

Examines ways to work effectively in contentious water situations. Explores conflict tolerance, prevention, management, and transformation through collaborative structures as well as through models of negotiation and dialogue.

WRP 544 - MANAGING NATURAL RESOURCES FOR CLIMATE ADAPTATION

  • Water Cooperation and Diplomacy students, please register for this class.

Students work through series of case studies in resource management to identify strategies and approaches that promote or prevent resilience in resource management, participate in discussions, and hands-on activities in addition to the lectures and will prepare daily reflections.  A final reflection and essay due one week after the end of the classroom sessions. This course will use a lecture and discussion format, and draw from the international expertise of the instructor and guest lecturers.

WRP 599-SPECIAL TOPICS: ST/INTERNATIONAL WATER LAW

Session: Summer Session 2 (1st 4-Week) (06-24-2024 to 06-28-2024)

Students will learn about the key principles of international water law and how they are codified in international conventions in treaties, but also how they are applied in specific basin contexts. Students will be able to analyze international water treaties, including in the context of newly emerging challenges such as climate change.

WRS 532 APPLIED FIELD PROBLEMS

Session: Summer Session 2 (1st 4-Week) (06-24-2024 to 06-28-2024)

Instructor: Maria Zamora

Introduces graduate students to real-world water resources problems and approaches to solving them. Students will assess and analyze the various constraints and limitations to integrated water management that often cannot be adequately simulated in classroom exercises. They will acquire the practical tools necessary to become effective water resources professionals in a rapidly changing world.

    • Include your name, student id number, and details for the class(es) you wish to take.
  • If you are not an OSU student, you will need to review the Graduate School's website for non-degree seeking applicants.
    • Once you have applied, you will need to follow the same steps as above for OSU students.
